Livorno have headed into half time in their Serie A match against Napoli on level terms after both sides scored in the opening 45 minutes.
The first chance of the match fell to Dries Mertens for the visitors, but his powerful shot from just outside the box was well saved by Francesco Bardi.
Livorno responded to Napoli's strong start with an effort from Leandro Greco, but a diving save from Pepe Reina denied the midfielder.
After a quiet spell from both sides, Goran Pandev burst into the home side's box looking for a chance to shoot, but he was fouled by Federico Ceccherini, giving the visitors a spot kick.
Mertens stepped up to take the penalty, calmly slotting the ball under Bardi with a shot the to centre of the goal.
The lead was short-lived though, as Ibrahima Mbaye got the hosts back on level terms just seven minutes later, tapping in from a Djamel Mesbah cross.
