Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has reportedly informed a selection of his teammates that he will be leaving Naples at the end of the current season.
The 35-year-old will see his contract with the Italian giants expire at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, and the stopper's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks.
According to Il Mattino, Reina has told teammates Marek Hamsik, Mario Rui, Dries Mertens, Jose Callejon and Raul Albiol that his time with Napoli is coming to an end.
"Football will take me elsewhere," Reina is believed to have said, according to the report. "This is my last season at Napoli. In football that's now it works: today you are here, tomorrow somewhere else."
Reina, who is expected to continue in the game rather than announce his retirement, joined Napoli from Bayern Munich in 2015, and has made more than 120 appearances for the Serie A side in all competitions.
