How Qatar could line up against Netherlands

Sports Mole looks at how tournament hosts Qatar could line up against Netherlands in their final match of the 2022 World Cup.

Qatar head coach Felix Sanchez could reward Al-Duhail centre-forward Mohammed Muntari with a start against Netherlands following his goal against Senegal on Friday.

The 28-year-old came off the bench to register in the Group A contest, but it only proved to be a consolation, with Senegal recording a 3-1 victory in Doha.

Qatar have been eliminated from the World Cup ahead of this match, but they still have pride to play for, and it would be some achievement if they managed to pick up a victory against Holland on Tuesday.

There are unlikely to be many changes from the side that took to the field last time out, with the captain Hassan Al-Haydos again set to feature in a deeper midfield role.

Muntari is likely to be joined by Almoez Ali in the final third of the field, with the 26-year-old bidding to add to the 42 goals that he has already scored for the national side.

It should again be a 3-5-2 formation for the tournament hosts, and there could be a change in the middle of midfield, as Abdulaziz Hatem had a positive impact off the bench against Senegal.

Hatem could come in for Karim Boudiaf, with Assim Madibo retaining his spot, while Pedro Miguel should again feature in the back three for the Maroons.

Qatar possible starting lineup: Barsham; Miguel, Khoukhi, Hassan; Mohammad, Hatem, Madibo, Al-Haydos, Ahmed; Ali, Muntari
