Joel Bengston struck a 62nd minute winner as New England Revolution secured an away win over Chicago Fire.
The hosts started well and Revolution keeper Matt Reis had to make a good save to stop former West Bromwich Albion striker Sherjill MacDonald giving the Fire the lead.
Reis was in the action again minutes later as he made another good stop to tip Dilly Duka's free kick over the bar.
After the break, New England broke the deadlock as Keyln Rowe lifted the ball over the Chicago defence and Bengston was there to head the ball in from close range.
Chicago tried to get level but were kept at bay by the Revolution defence, who held out to secure the three points.
