Newcastle United youngster Dan Barlaser has put pen to paper on a professional contract at St James' Park.
The Gateshead-born midfielder has been a regular for Peter Beardsley's Under-21s this season, and has signed what the Magpies have described as a "long-term deal".
The 18-year-old told The Shields Gazette: "I'm really proud and happy to sign for my local club, who I have supported all my life.
"Being involved in the first team a couple of times has been really good as well, and I want to thank all my family and friends for getting me where I am."
Barlaser is a Turkey Under-17 international.
