Lokomotiv Moscow have announced that Slaven Bilic will take over as boss after the Euro 2012 championships.
The 43-year-old recently announced that he was stepping down as coach of the Croatian national team after this summer's tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
Premier League interest in the former West Ham United and Everton defender was thought to be high but the Russian side have now swooped to install him as their new manager.
"I'm very glad we were able to sign a contract with such a top coach," president Olga Smorodskaya told the club's official website.
"Bilic is one of the best coaches in Europe, and we had to beat many clubs, including those from the English Premier League, in order to sign him."
Lokomotiv sacked former manager Yuri Krasnozhan after accusing him of "negligence in his job".
