Norwich City produced an impressive first-half display to lead Panathinaikos through a Bradley Johnson goal.
The Canaries stunned the Greek side with a goal in the third minute, with Robert Snodgrass curling the ball in for Johnson to head past the goalkeeper.
The same pair nearly linked up again 10 minutes later, before Gary Hooper saw a shot go inches past the post.
Panathinaikos had shown little in attack before Gordon Schildenfeld saw an effort blocked on the line, as the Greece team began to display a little bit of quality.
The remainder of the half lacked the pace of the opening 20 minutes and the Canaries will be happy with their showing heading into the break.
