Norwich City have insisted that they have not received a transfer request from Wes Hoolahan or any other player.
A recent report had claimed that the Republic of Ireland international had informed the Canaries of his desire to join former Norwich boss Paul Lambert at Aston Villa.
However, chief executive David McNally have stressed that club expect incomings rather than outgoings at Carrow Road this month.
"The club's focus is on improving the squad during this transfer window. As we've always said, no players will be sold against our will. We've received no transfer requests this season and have no intention of releasing any of our senior players. Our focus this January, as with every transfer window, is very much on improving the squad," he said in a statement.
Hoolahan has started just five Premier League matches this season.
