Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.
The Reds are currently seventh in the Championship, with the club making a bid for promotion to the Premier League this season, which is why they want to bolster their squad.
According to The Sun, Steve Cooper is hoping to sign Longstaff in the upcoming January transfer market in order to add some top-flight experience.
The Magpies are willing to let him leave, but on a loan deal until the end of the season, and Nottingham Forest are the favourites to secure his signature.
Longstaff has made 11 appearances in the Premier League within this campaign, and does have one goal to his name, with the team currently 19th in the table.
The Newcastle Academy graduate has struggled for game time since Eddie Howe took charge of the club, having only appeared once for him as a substitute.
