Lazio's hopes of finishing in the top three in Serie A have taken a further blow as they were held to a goalless draw by Parma away from home.
The Aquile were on the backfoot right from the start as Amauri forced out a good save from goalkeeper Federico Marchetti with a header from a Jonathan Biabiany cross.
Djamel Mesbah's free kick caused problems for the Lazio defence, but the visitors themselves went close minutes later when Miroslav Klose failed to make the most of a chance crafted by Antonio Candreva.
Amauri came close again for Parma in the opening minute of the second half with a volley that went just wide of the post.
However, Lazio began to take control of proceedings thereafter as Ederson, Libor Kozak and Stefan Radu all went close to breaking the deadlock at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
There was drama in injury time as Lazio defender Giuseppe Biava was sent off for two bookable offences and both sides had a goal disallowed for offside.
