Perth Glory have moved joint-top of the A-League with a 2-0 victory at the Newcastle Jets.
Andy Keogh and Nebojsa Marinkovic have taken Kenny Lowe's side level on points with leaders Melbourne Victory, who have a better goal difference and a game in hand.
Newcastle Jets had the first opportunity in the sixth minute when Enver Alivodic took aim from outside the box, but his shot just flew wide of the post.
The home side made a bright start to the game and Ander Hoole forced Danny Vukovic into a save in the 13th minute with a shot that the Perth goalkeeper did well to keep out low to his left.
Perth had their first shot on target on the half-hour mark, when Scott Jamieson's free kick was saved by Ben Kennedy. The Newcastle stopper was called into action again soon after when he denied Sidnei Sciola's low drive.
Perth made the breakthrough through Keogh five minutes after the break. Some good team play saw the ball fed out wide to Jamie MacLaren, who crossed for the Republic of Ireland international to head home from eight yards out and score his 11th goal of the campaign.
Newcastle almost found a response 12 minutes later when Taylor Regan's header came back out off the crossbar and away to safety.
Hoole missed two chances in quick succession, the first coming after he shot wide from inside the penalty area and the second when he shot straight at Vukovic, having been picked out in space.
Perth made the game safe six minutes from time through Marinkovic, who fired into the top corner after being set up by Keogh. Chris Harold could have added another just two minutes later, but he fired well wide after finding space inside the box.
