Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho has admitted that being forced to settle for second place in Group A has come as a bitter blow to his side.
Paris Saint-Germain overtook the Portuguese champions after beating them 2-1 earlier tonight in a hard-fought Champions League clash.
Moutinho believes that the best way to respond is to build a strong run of results before the competition resumes in February.
He told UEFA.com: "We have to react well to this match. We lost the game and top spot in the group, but we played well. We created chances but we could not win.
"Anyway, we are in the next phase of the Champions league and that was our objective. Now we will think about winning the next matches."
Defeat to PSG was Porto's loss in Europe this season, but they did finish the group stages with a 100% home record.
