A first-half goal from Charlie Austin was enough to hand Queens Park Rangers a 1-0 win over Rot-Weiss Erfurt at the Steigerwaldstadion in their pre-season clash this evening.
After an entertaining opening period, Austin headed home from Joey Barton's quickly taken free kick to give the visitors the lead on 23 minutes.
Austin nearly extended Queens Park Rangers' lead just before half time, but his effort from Michael Doughty's lofted pass was well saved.
Harry Redknapp made 10 changes at half time and the new faces held firm to secure the win.
