Queens Park Rangers are reportedly in discussions with top scorer Charlie Austin over a new contract.
The ex-Burnley forward has netted 14 times this season and a possible call up to the England squad has been mooted.
According to the Daily Mail, the Hoops will offer a £60,000-a-week deal to the Englishman, but chairman Tony Fernandes is adamant that the club's wage structure will not be broken by sealing Austin's long-term future to Loftus Road.
It is said that QPR do not expect Austin to put pen to paper on a contract extension until the end of the season, given the West London outfit's ongoing battle against relegation.
Austin was on the scoresheet in QPR's 2-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Hull City on Saturday.
