Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has admitted that he had two sleepless nights following his side's 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last weekend.
Atletico were less than two minutes away from winning the European Cup after a first-half header from Diego Godin had handed the Spanish champions the lead.
However, Sergio Ramos equalised for Los Blancos in stoppage time, before goals from Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo secured La Decima for Madrid.
"The first two nights went very badly. After a year of hard work the final was very cruel to us. The team gave everything to win in 90 minutes and they equalised in injury time," he told Marca.
"We ran with a lot of force and we left everything on the field. The Barcelona game [in which Atletico were crowned champions] took a huge effort and maybe took its toll."
Koke was today named in Spain's final 23-man squad for the World Cup this summer.
