Real Madrid will be aiming to return to winning ways in La Liga when they welcome Villarreal to Bernabeu on Sunday night.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Betis last weekend, and they currently sit second in the table, two points behind leaders Girona.

Los Blancos will enter this match off the back of a win, though, beating Union Berlin 3-2 in the Champions League on Tuesday night to make it six victories from six matches in the section.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Villarreal, who are 13th in the division.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Militao underwent surgery on the serious knee injury that he suffered in the team's season opener, and the defender will be unavailable for selection for at least another three to four months.

Thibaut Courtois

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Courtois also underwent an operation on an ACL injury earlier this season, and the club's number one is currently stepping up his rehabilitation ahead of a potential return in April.

Aurelien Tchouameni

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: December 21 (vs. Alaves)

Tchouameni suffered a broken foot in the Clasico contest with Barcelona earlier this season, but the midfielder is set to return to first-team training this week, so he could be back against Alaves next weekend.

Arda Guler

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Guler, who is yet to make his Real Madrid debut, recently suffered a fresh fitness setback, but he is on course to return for Ancelotti's side at the start of 2024.

Eduardo Camavinga

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Camavinga will not be back on the field until at least January due to a knee injury which he picked up during a training session with France during the November international break.

Vinicius Junior

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid will be without Vinicius until at least January due to a thigh injury that he suffered while representing Brazil during the recent international break.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid will be missing first-choice right-back Carvajal once again on Sunday due to a calf problem, with the Spaniard expected to be out until after the winter break.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Real Madrid have no players suspended for this game.
