Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has refused to offer any indication of his future beyond the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

The Italian only has a contract at Bernabeu until June 2024, and he continues to be heavily linked with the Brazil post.

A recent report claimed that the CBF are still confident of making Ancelotti their next manager despite suggestions that Real Madrid were considering offering him a new contract.

The 64-year-old returned to Bernabeu in June 2021 after a spell at Everton, and he enjoyed an impressive 2021-22 campaign, helping the club win La Liga, the Champions League and the Spanish Super Cup.

Ancelotti guided the team to the Copa del Rey trophy, in addition to securing the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup, last season, and the capital outfit have also been in strong form this term, already advancing to the knockout round of the Champions League, while they sit second in the La Liga table.

The experienced manager was asked for an update on his future during his press conference to preview Sunday's La Liga clash with Cadiz.

Ancelotti said that a final decision might not be made until next June, but he suggested that he would prefer to sign a new deal at Real Madrid than take charge of Brazil.

"In the worst case, you'll find out in six months, and that's nothing in comparison to a whole life. I don't think about my future," said Ancelotti.

"I'm very proud that one of the biggest national teams in the world like Brazil can talk about me, but what's clear is that I have a contract until June 30, and until then I won't talk about my future.

"I'll repeat it, soon everything will be clear. In the worst case, in six months. Of course, I would wait for Real Madrid to the final day."

Fernando Diniz remains in charge of Brazil on an interim basis, and the South American nation have identified Ancelotti as their number one candidate to take the job moving forward.

Ancelotti has been at the helm for 134 matches during his second spell with Real Madrid, boasting a record of 93 wins, 19 draws and 22 defeats.

Meanwhile, he previously managed Los Blancos between June 2013 and May 2015, delivering the Champions League title and Copa del Rey trophy.

Real Madrid will be aiming to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they face Cadiz on Sunday, but seven first-team players will miss the contest due to injury. body check tags ::
