Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he has "nicked" a few of Jose Mourinho's traits during his time at St James' Park.
The former West Ham United coach has claimed that he has been heavily influenced by the Real Madrid manager's three successful years at Chelsea.
"I used to watch Chelsea regularly because it was on my doorstep," Pardew told the Chronicle.
"It was when Jose Mourinho was there. There were things that I was seeing that I hadn't seen in English football before. Some of the managerial traits that he was bringing I've learned from. And I can't help but say I've nicked a few of them."
Pardew almost clinched a Champions League spot with the Magpies last season but fell short at the final hurdle to secure a place in the Europa League.
