Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone believes that Real Madrid's signing of Toni Kroos has made them a more balanced outfit.
Kroos arrived at the Bernabeu from Bayern Munich this summer, while Madrid also added James Rodriguez and Keylor Navas to their first-team squad.
"Madrid have improved," Simeone told reporters at a press conference.
"Kroos gives them greater potential in the middle of the field, more balance. It is a lot better than last year's team."
Atletico travel to the Bernabeu in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup this evening.
