Real Madrid have beaten Levante 3-0 at the Bernabeu thanks to goals from Marcelo, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese.
The Los Blancos defence had an early warning as Levante frontman Roger was able to fire at goal after getting the better of Nacho, but goalkeeper Keylor Navas did well to tip the low attempt wide.
After a half-chance from Gareth Bale, Roger again threatened the Real goal from six yards before Navas smothered the ball to safety.
It was Rafael Benitez's side who took the lead against the run of play, however, when Marcelo fired the ball beyond Levante keeper Ruben after some solid link-up play with Ronaldo.
The Portuguese frontman then got on the scoresheet himself two minutes later, smashing the ball into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the box to double Real's advantage before half time.
Toni Kroos had his first opportunity of the game 10 minutes into the second half after receiving the ball from Danilo, but Ruben was on hand to save the German's curling shot.
After Navas bravely blocked an effort from Levante substitute Nabil Ghilas, Real scored their third of the game through Jese, who did well to get beyond his marker and fire in at the near post despite Ronaldo demanding the ball in the centre.
Casemiro had a chance to put a fourth past Ruben with two minutes remaining, but the 22-year-old stopper was able to collect the long shot to halt Real's scoring from progressing any further before the final whistle.
