Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to battle Barcelona for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.
The 20-year-old scored 20 times in 42 appearances for Leverkusen last season, while he has struck three times in 10 outings for his Bundesliga side in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign.
A number of clubs - including Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain - have been credited with an interest in the playmaker, who scored his first goal for Germany against Argentina earlier this week.
Barca are also believed to have a firm interest in the youngster, but according to Mundo Deportivo, Madrid are preparing to battle their bitter rivals for Havertz's signature in next summer's transfer window.
The report claims that Los Blancos are looking for a new midfielder, with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric both entering the latter stages of their careers.
Leverkusen are believed to value the German in the region of £90m as his contract at the BayArena still has little under three years left to run.
