Real Madrid have remained optimistic about their chances of signing Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to a report.
The 23-year-old has long been Real's primary transfer target, and his future is one of the hottest topics in football with his current deal in Paris due to expire in June.
Despite talks of a potential contract renewal and increasing pressure from PSG, Real remain confident of finally getting their man, according to ESPN.
The Frenchman admitted earlier in April that he had "new elements to consider", whilst insisting that he was yet to make a decision on his future.
Mbappe has been in excellent form for PSG in recent weeks, which includes five goals and four assists in his last two games for the club, in 5-1 and 6-1 wins against Lorient and Clermont respectively.
That bright patch in front of goal included the only goal of the game as PSG beat Real 1-0 at the Parc des Princes back in February, before netting the opening goal at the Bernabeu as the Spanish outfit came from behind to win 3-2 on aggregate and progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
