Real Madrid are reportedly willing to delay an announcement over Kylian Mbappe if a deal for the forward is agreed next month.
The World Cup winner has admitted that he requested a move away from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and has rebuffed the club's attempts to tie him down beyond 2022.
Mbappe can begin talks with clubs elsewhere from January onwards, and Real Madrid are expected to win the race for his services next year.
It remains to be seen if a pre-contract agreement can be struck over the winter, but PSG and Real Madrid will be locking horns in the last 16 of the Champions League in February and March.
According to AS, Real are therefore prepared to wait until after the tie is completed to publicly confirm a pre-contract agreement for Mbappe out of respect for PSG.
The report adds that Mbappe is poised to pen a deal until 2028 with Los Blancos, who do not want the 22-year-old to be on the receiving end of the PSG fans' hostility if a deal is announced before their Champions League clash.
Mbappe has still insisted that he is "very happy" at PSG, where he has scored 145 goals and set up 75 more in 194 games across all competitions. body check tags ::
