Reims remain seventh in Ligue 1 following a 1-1 draw with Lorient on Saturday afternoon in which they came from a goal down.
There was a bright start from the home side with plenty of passing football, with Franck Signorino setting up Gaetan Charbonnier, but the eventual shot went over the bar.
Lorient came into the game and could have been ahead on 15 minutes, but Jeremie Aliadiere's shot after being found by Bruno Ecuele Manga was pushed wide by Kossi Agassa.
It was end to end for the rest of the half as both Odair Fortes for Reims and Lamine Gassama for Lorient tested the respective goalkeepers with shots from distance, but both goals remained intact.
Just before the end of the first half Agassa clattered Aliadiere in the box and got himself booked, before Vincent Aboubakar slammed in the spot kick for a half-time lead.
It took only three minutes of the second half for the hosts to get level and it was the dangerous Fortes who finished neatly from the right side of the box for 1-1.
Despite a number of chances at both ends following the equaliser, the teams had to settle for a share of the spoils in an entertaining draw.
