Rudi Garcia has paid tribute to Lille after ending his five-year stint in charge of the club to take over at Roma.
The 44-year-old was unveiled as the Giallorossi's new boss yesterday at a press conference in New York.
"I'd first of all like to spare a thought for Lille, the president and the fans," Garcia told reporters. "They launched my professional career and allowed me to win my trophies as a coach.
"I am a faithful person and spent five years at Lille, so I hope to be at Roma for many years too."
The Frenchman led Les Dogues to a league and cup double in 2011.
