Scotland's Kenny Miller has admitted that his side are "bitterly disappointed" following their 1-1 draw with FYR Macedonia at Hampden Park.
The 32-year-old Vancouver Whitecaps forward scored an equaliser just before half-time, after Nikolce Noveski had fired the visitors into an 11th-minute lead.
Craig Levein's men now have just two points from their opening two matches in Group A.
"It's not ideal, we set out to get six points and we've come away with two draws," Miller told Sky Sports News. "We're bitterly disappointed because it was two home games and we've had good home form, but it's gone now.
"On Saturday we felt we played well enough [in the 0-0 draw with Serbia] but tonight the performance was well below par.
"We need to play with a quicker tempo. We weren't up to speed in the first half and it took the goal to give us a little shake. The performance as a whole was not where we want to be and we paid the penalty for that."
Miller has scored 17 goals in 62 senior international appearances.
