Seattle Sounders picked up their third win in four MLS outings by beating Vancouver Whitecaps 3-0 in Canada.
The hosts started much the better of both sides and Octavio Rivero came close to opening the scoring on two occasions inside the first 15 minutes.
Seattle slowly but surely developed a foothold, however, and Zach Scott was guilty of missing a good chance by heading over the bar midway through the first half.
They did open the scoring in timely fashion, though, as Andreas Ivanschitz drilled past David Ousted from a tight angle on the stroke of half time.
The Sounders took a giant step toward the win with 20 minutes left, as Gonzalo Pineda added a second, before Obafemi Martins struck a third in the closing stages to seal a comfortable win.
