Seattle Sounders continued their resurgence in form in the MLS as they hammered San Jose Earthquakes 4-0 at CenturyLink Field.
The hosts took the lead in the 27th minute when visitors' midfielder Sam Cronin back-heeled the ball and allowed the hosts to break and Mauro Rosales found Lamar Neagle in the area, who fired in past Jon Busch.
The Earthquakes had the chance to hit back straight away but striker Alan Gordon somehow missed the target from six yards out as he headed the ball over the bar.
Just before half time, Seattle doubled their lead in spectacular fashion as Rosales curled the ball past Busch with a free kick into the top corner from 25 yards out.
It was 3-0 soon after the break, as Neagle got his second of the game when he turned his marker on the edge of the area and drilled a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
Seattle sealed their win in the 90th minute when Obafemi Martins made it 4-0 as he tapped in from close range after San Jose had failed to clear the ball in their own penalty area.
