Sevilla have confirmed that French defender Benoit Tremoulinas will miss the Europa League final due to a knee problem.
The 30-year-old, who only recently overcame a thigh strain, suffered the injury during Thursday night's 3-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the second leg of his team's Europa League semi-final.
A resultant scan revealed that the France international had suffered a meniscus tear, which has ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
"Tremoulinas says goodbye to the season after suffering a tear of the lateral meniscus in his right leg," read a Sevilla statement. "The defender will be treated in France next week by his personal doctor, after which it is estimated he will be out for four weeks."
Sevilla will go in search of a third successive Europa League crown when they face Liverpool in the final on May 18. The left-back will also miss the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona four days later.
