Sheffield United and Charlton Athletic are goalless at the interval of their FA Cup quarter-final at Bramall Lane.
Despite a lively opening, the first half-chance of the afternoon did not arrive until the eighth minute, when United defender Neill Collins planted a header over the crossbar from inside the box.
Charlton's first opportunity came just before the half-hour mark when Marcus Tudgay found some space on the edge of the box, but his low effort was saved by Mark Howard.
United had the ball in the back of the net in the latter stages of the half when Conor Coady converted from close range, but the offside flag had been raised.
