Sports Mole brings you live coverage of the Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town.

Huddersfield Town have moved into ninth place in the Championship table after a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Martin Paterson netted an early opener for the visitors, as Sheffield Wednesday struggled to get going during the first 45 minutes.

The home side improved after the break, but Adam Clayton's volley doubled Huddersfield's advantage, and despite Wednesday reducing the deficit in injury time, the Terriers were fully deserving of the three points.

Read below to see how the action unfolded at Hillsborough.

Hello, and welcome to Sports Mole's coverage of the match between Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town in the Championship.
After a two-week hiatus because of the international break, we are welcomed back with what is an intriguing encounter at Hillsborough. The home side have only won once during the first three-and-a-half months of this campaign, but they will be eager to improve on that record against local rivals Huddersfield.
The team news is in from Yorkshire. Full news of that is coming up shortly...
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY XI: Martinez; Buxton, Llera, Mattock, Johnson; Helan, McPhail, Antonio, Semedo, Wickham, Fryatt
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN XI: Smithies; Dixon, Lynch, Gerrard, Smith; Hogg, Norwood, Hammill, Clayton; Vaughan, Paterson
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUBSTITUTES: Kirkland; Johnson, Maghoma, Johnson, Coke, Palmer, Nuhiu
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN SUBSTITUTES: Scannell, Gobern, Ward, Bennett, Wallace, Richards, Holmes
Huddersfield travel to Hillsborough having not lost at Wednesday's home ground since 2004. The home side will be eager to change that this afternoon, and they might have a chance with the Terriers having lost four of their last five games.
PREDICTION! This match really could produce either of the three results that are possible. As with many derby matches, I wouldn't expect a lot of goals, and I can't see either side winning by more than one goal. I'm going for a 1-1 draw.
We are just over five minutes from kickoff in Yorkshire. The players should be making their way down the tunnel shortly.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones has told Sky Sports News that he has made four changes to his side because he feels that a few players need a break from the starting lineup. Will that help them this afternoon? We will find out over the next couple of hours!
Sheffield Wednesday get the Yorkshire derby underway.
The Owls conceded the ball straight from the kickoff, and it gave Huddersfield an immediate opportunity to break forward. The returning James Vaughan did well down the left, but the home side cleared.
It's Wednesday's turn to break, and Helan does excellently to cross from the byline, but the ball is marginally too high for Antonio at the back post. Good start from both sides.
Damien Martinez has replaced Chris Kirkland between the posts for the home side this afternoon, but I think he is still waiting to touch the ball. I imagine that he hopes that continues!
GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Huddersfield Town (Paterson)
Sorry, Sheffield Wednesday fans. I think that I have just jinxed you! It's a superb goal from Huddersfield. Adam Clayton is the architect, wrong-footing the defender before playing a precise ball to Martin Paterson, who controlled the ball instantly before firing the ball into the bottom corner from 10 yards.
To add insult to injury, Paterson was in an offside position. Not the start that Dave Jones would have hoped for...
BOOKING! The first yellow card of the afternoon is handed to Clayton, who cyncially stops Antonio when he was threatening to start an attack for the Owls.
We are less than 20 minutes into this match, and the home crowd are already getting on the backs of their side. I suppose that comes with the territory when they have seen just one victory in nearly four months.
Wednesday are all over the place at the back. Two players left the ball for each other, and Hogg capitalised before seeing his shot blocked by Semedo. More boos from the Hillsborough crowd. The Owls need a positive spell in this match to get their fans back onside.
Vaughan is proving a handful on his return to the Huddersfield side. His absence must have had a big impact on Mark Robins's side. He hasn't had a chance yet, but he is constantly probing the Wednesday backline.
What is it about Hillsborough and referees? Today's official Roger East is on the deck, but he hasn't been pushed by Paolo Di Canio. Semedo attempted to return a pass to Joe Mattock, but it hit East's heel and he subsequently fell to the ground.
BOOKING! You would have thought that James Vaughan would have been on his best behaviour after just returning from suspension? He goes into the referee's notebook with a crude challenge on Llera with the ball already out of play. I have no idea what he is complaining about. It was a definite yellow.
BOOKING! The temperature is slowly beginning to rise. Stephen McPhail becomes the third man to go into the book after a scything tackle on Clayton.
Huddersfield are playing in yellow this afternoon, and Sheffield Wednesday are allowing Mark Robins's team to play like a South American team who wear the same colour (not Ecuador...). The home side look slow on the ball, but they appear even slower when attempting to win the ball back.
SHOT! Norwood tries his luck from 30 yards, but his swerving effort fails to deceive Martinez, who hangs onto the ball with confidence.
Sheffield Wednesday are going to do well to keep the score at 1-0 before the break. Hammill breaks down the left, but with several players in the box, his cross is blocked for a corner, which comes to nothing.
BOOKING! Vaughan breaks clear of the Wednesday defence, but after being forced to turn back, he is tripped by Llera, who is harshly booked. That didn't even warrant a warning.
There will be three minutes of added-on time.
HALF TIME: Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Huddersfield Town
The referee blows his whistle for half time, and Huddersfield deservedly lead at the break. The magnitude of the boos that greeted the conclusion of the half probably tells you what the home supporters think of their team's performance.
I said before the match that I would be be surprised if there was more than one goal between the two sides, but after the opening 45 minutes, the Owls are lucky to still be in this game. Dave Jones has a lot of work to do in the dressing room.
Huddersfield have only had one more shot than their hosts, but they are dominating the possession stats. They've had 60% of the ball at Hillsborough. It seemed a lot more than that.
Dave Jones must be contemplating changes after that performance, but with his attacking big guns already on the pitch, can he realistically shake things up with half of the match still to go?
SUBSTITUTIONS! Well, I was wrong. McPhail and Antonio have been replaced by Jermaine Johnson and Giles Coke. Bold move.
We are underway in the second half.
CHANCE! What a miss! Huddersfield should be 2-0 ahead. Paterson's shot deflected into the path of Vaughan who was waiting six yards out, but he sliced the ball wide via the outside of the post. That's a shocker.
Sheffield Wednesday will feel fortunate to still be just the one goal behind, and they could gain confidence from that near miss. They hold onto possession in the middle of the park, but they give the ball away when attempting to make the final ball.
Huddersfield earn a free kick around 40 yards out. Hammill's ball into the box appears weak at first, but it evades everyone before Martinez dives to prevent the ball finding the far corner.
Jermaine Johnson has had a positive impact since his arrival. Moments after firing over after getting into a threatening position in the penalty area, his teasing delivery into the box just misses Fryatt, who was lurking on the penalty spot.
CHANCE! Another huge chance for Huddersfield goes begging. The ball ricocheted into the path of Paterson, but he scuffed his left-foot effort from eight yards.
SHOT! This is much better from Sheffield Wednesday. Johnson lets fly with a 25-yard shot that Smithies needs to tip wide, and the Huddersfield stopper is forced into action again to prevent a header finding the top corner.
Out of nowhere, Sheffield Wednesday are peppering the Huddersfield goal. Fryatt is the next man to try his luck, and although his 30-yard strike is straight at Smithies, the goalkeeper can't hold onto the ball, but he manages to claim a cross a few seconds later. This has turned into a good game now.
Mark Robins might be forced into an alteration soon. His side have become second best, and the longer that Sheffield Wednesday build up this head of steam, the more likely that they will be to force an equaliser.
GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Huddersfield Town (Clayton)
Ouch, that's got to hurt if you are a Sheffield Wednesday. Huddersfield double their lead at Hillsborough through Adam Clayton, who volleyed the ball through a group of players after the ball fell to him around 12 yards out.
That second goal might be too much to come back from for Sheffield Wednesday. Dave Jones would have been encouraged by their response during the opening 20 minutes of the half, but Clayton's goal has taken the wind out of their sails.
The Huddersfield supporters are singing "you're getting sacking in the morning" towards Dave Jones. Perhaps a little harsh, but you've seen stranger decisions in football. Maghoma has replaced Mattock for the Owls.
SHOT! Jermaine Johnson sends another shot towards goal, but Smithies does well to tip the ball wide for a corner. The winger has reacted well to not featuring from the start this afternoon.
The game has become a little scrappy over the past 10 minutes, but Huddersfield will be content with that. They don't have long to hang onto a result that would see them move into eighth position in the Championship table.
Sheffield Wednesday earn a free kick on the right-hand side, but the delivery is poor and it's easily headed clear by a defender. The home side are trying to put together a significant move, but they are being repelled by a gutsy Huddersfield defence.
Frustration is beginning to set in for the Owls. Helan, who has been quiet this afternoon, attempts a rather ambitious shot from 30 yards out, but it was always rising and cleared the ball by at least six yards.
Hammill concedes a needless free kick on the right-hand side of the penalty area, but even though Johnson's cross is a good one, the ball falls kindly for Huddersfield to allow them to clear.
There will be three minutes of added-on time.
GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Huddersfield Town (Wickham)
Connor Wickham drills a 20-yard free kick past Smithies, but it's all going to be too little, too late. There are seconds remaining.
FULL TIME: Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Huddersfield Town
The full-time whistle goes at Hillsborough, and Huddersfield have earned a narrow 2-1 win over Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday. The home side improved after the break, but the visitors deserved their victory.
Adam Clayton was undoubtedly the man of the match for Huddersfield. He created the first, before directing a neat volley through a ruck of players for the second.
That will be all from Sports Mole for this match. Thank you for joining us, and be sure to stick around for the remainder of the afternoon, where we will be bringing you action from around Europe. Goodbye for now.
