Sheffield Wednesday defender Jose Semedo has had his sending-off from the weekend upheld by the Football Association.
The Owls appealed against the decision from Saturday's draw at Bolton Wanderers, but have not been successful in their plea.
The Portuguese player will now serve a three-match suspension for his lunge on Jay Spearing.
The FA did, however, overturn the decision to dismiss Wigan Athletic's James McClean.
