Sheffield Wednesday this evening announced that they have parted ways with head coach Stuart Gray.
Gray, 55, leaves the Owls after helping stabilise the club in 2014-15 with a 13th-place finish in the Championship.
He had been in full charge of the club since January 2014, but now loses his job as new Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri makes his mark at Hillsborough.
"This is not a decision I have taken lightly but one that I believe is in the best interests of our club ahead of the 2015-16 season," Chansiri said in a statement this evening.
"The club will be taking a new direction next season and it is my belief that the appointment of a new head coach will help achieve my desire of bringing Premier League football back to Hillsborough."
Towards the end of the season, Gray was named on Chansiri's new sporting director committee, but he will not be given the chance to spend when Chansiri provides new funds for transfers this summer.
