Paddy McCarthy has been thrown into the Preston North End starting lineup after joining the club on loan from Crystal Palace today.
The defender starts at Sheffield Wednesday, where he will be an unpopular figure having previously played for fierce rivals Sheffield United.
Preston are without a win in their last seven league matches.
The Owls, meanwhile, are boosted by the news that forwards Fernando Forestieri and Daniel Pudil are fit to start despite hamstring injuries, although Jeremy Helan serves his one-match suspension.
The two sides last met in 2012, when the South Yorkshire side won 2-0 in League One.
Sheffield Wednesday: Westwood; Turner, Hutchinson, Lees, Hunt; Pudil, Bannan, Lee, Wallace; Forestieri, Nuhiu
Subs: Wildsmith, Loovens, Matias, McGugan, Wiggins, Joao, Lopez
Preston North End: Pickford; Woods, McCarthy, Clarke, Cunningham; Reach, Welsh, Browne, Johnson; Keane, May
