Southampton's record signing Sofiane Boufal has been handed his first start for the club in this evening's League Cup clash with Sunderland.
The Moroccan international's inclusion is one of nine changes for the Saints, who have named five academy graduates in their starting XI.
Sunderland have made four changes from last weekend's defeat to West Ham United, including a first start for former Everton forward Victor Anichebe.
Black Cats manager David Moyes has also drafted in Paddy McNair and handed the captain's armband to defender Lamine Kone.
