Swansea City attacker Michu has expressed his delight at being called up to the Spanish senior squad for the first time.
Coach Vicente del Bosque selected the 27-year-old last night after Atletico Madrid frontman David Villa was forced to withdraw because of an ankle injury.
"I want to enjoy this experience. I am sharing the dressing room with the best in the world," he told Cadena SER. "Every Spanish player dreams about this and yet it is complicated. Few people can get to wear the shirt of the best team in the world.
"There are many absences, but there are still some great footballers in the squad. We will see if I am lucky and can play, while I am grateful to be called."
The Spaniards will face Belarus on Friday and take on Georgia a week on Tuesday in World Cup qualifiers.
