Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Friday.
Sports Mole

Tottenham Hotspur will endeavour to claim back-to-back Premier League victories when they travel to the City Ground to face an under-pressure Nottingham Forest outfit on Friday night.

Spurs ended a five-game winless run in style when they cruised to a 4-1 victory at home to Newcastle United last weekend courtesy of goals from Richarlison (2), Destiny Udogie and Son Heung-min.

Ange Postecoglou's side have four more top-flight fixtures remaining in 2023 and they will be keen to end the year on a high as they attempt to climb from fifth place back into the top four before the beginning of 2024.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up their latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Steve Cooper's side.

Eric Dier

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Eric Dier has missed each of Tottenham's last three games with a groin injury sustained in training, and it remains to be seen whether the defender will be fit to return to action on Friday.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Rodrigo Bentancur, who recently recovered from an ACL injury, is facing around 10 weeks on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury in the defeat to Aston Villa at the end of last month.

Micky van de Ven

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Micky van de Ven has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the beginning of November and the defender is not expected to return until the middle of January at the earliest.

James Maddison

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

James Maddison was forced off at the same time as Van de Ven in the defeat to Chelsea last month due to an ankle problem, and the playmaker is targeting a return to the first team in the middle of January.

Ivan Perisic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ivan Perisic underwent surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament injury in September, and the Croatian is facing a race against time to recover before the 2023-24 campaign draws to a close.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Ryan Sessegnon is yet to play for Spurs this season due to a troublesome hamstring issue, and there is currently no timeframe on his potential return.

Manor Solomon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Manor Solomon has been sidelined since October when he picked up a knee injury in training, and the Israeli winger is believed to be targeting a return in the middle of January.

Alfie Whiteman

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Backup goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he sustained a fracture and torn ligaments to his ankle in the summer.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham Hotspur have no suspended players for this match.
