Dejan Kulusevski provided a goal and assist to guide 10-man Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-0 away win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

After being kept at bay for the majority of the first period, Spurs found the breakthrough in stoppage time when Richarlison headed in from Kulusevski's inswinging delivery.

The Sweden international then doubled his side's advantage in the second period, firing home just minutes after Forest's Anthony Elanga had an effort ruled out.

Although Yves Bissouma was sent off in the 70th minute, Spurs held firm to claim all three points and their first clean sheet since October 23.

While Tottenham celebrate a second straight win, Forest have now lost five of their last six matches (D1), piling the pressure on manager Steve Cooper.

Tottenham travelled to the City Ground in high spirits after they thrashed Newcastle United 4-1 on Sunday to end a five-game winless run.

The visitors carved out a chance in the third minute when Son Heung-min went one-on-one with Matt Turner, only to be denied by the Forest goalkeeper.

Former Forest man Brennan Johnson then troubled Turner, prodding the ball goalwards to force the USA international to dive down low to his right.

Unfortunately for the Welshman, that proved to be one of his last meaningful contributions before he was withdrawn due to a head injury.

With chances proving to be few and far between in the first period, the two sides looked destined to go into the break on level terms.

That was until Richarlison found the net in first-half stoppage time, producing a glancing header from Kulusevski's inswinging cross.

After trailing at the break, the hosts thought that they had found an equaliser within 15 minutes of the restart when Elanga tucked the ball home from Neco Williams's low cross.

Unfortunately for Cooper's side, the goal was chalked off for an offside infringement, ensuring that Tottenham's narrow lead remained intact.

Forest's task became significantly tougher when the visitors added a second following a costly mistake from Turner.

The goalkeeper's loose pass was gathered up by the grateful Kulusevski, who drove into the box before firing in his fifth goal of the season.

While Spurs appeared to be in complete control, Bissouma provided his teammates with a difficult final 20 minutes when he was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Ryan Yates.

With the hosts boasting a numerical advantage, they did their utmost to stage a late fightback, going close to finding the net on a number of occasions.

Wales international Williams saw his driven strike blocked by Cristian Romero, before Guglielmo Vicario made a superb reaction save to deny Harry Toffolo from the subsequent corner.

Williams then struck the upright in stoppage time, summing up a frustrating evening for the hosts, who stay in 16th place and five points above the drop zone.

As for Ange Postecoglou's side, they remain in fifth position but move level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City. body check tags ::
