Harry Kane scored a sensational 93rd-minute winner from the halfway line to fire Tottenham Hotspur to a 3-2 victory over Juventus in their International Champions Cup clash in Singapore this afternoon.

An entertaining contest looked set for penalties after Lucas Moura had equalised following quickfire goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo, which had cancelled out Erik Lamela's opener.

However, Kane produced a moment of magic with the last meaningful kick of the game to lob Wojciech Szczesny from inside the centre circle as Spurs made a winning start to their pre-season campaign.

Maurizio Sarri named a strong team for his first match in charge of the Italian champions - including the likes of Ronaldo and the returning Gianluigi Buffon - but it was Tottenham who made the quicker start to the contest.

There appeared to be no hangover from the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool last month as they created their first chance inside four minutes, with Son Heung-min hitting the post from a tight angle after being found by Troy Parrott.

Parrott was involved again shortly afterwards as he flicked a cross on to Son, but the angle was against the South Korean once more and he could only pick out the side-netting.

Juve's first sight of goal arrived after 11 minutes when the ball broke to Ronaldo inside the area, but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner chose to take a touch which allowed Toby Alderweireld to come across and block the eventual effort.

Ronaldo snatched at another effort later in the half as Juventus struggled to find a way through the Spurs defence, and the beaten Champions League finalists took a deserved lead on the half-hour mark.

Parrott won the ball on the halfway line before launching an attack and getting up in support to collect Son's pass, only to see his low strike smartly saved by Buffon. The veteran keeper could only parry it back out into a dangerous area, though, and Lamela was waiting there to tap the rebound home.

Juve had a couple of headed chances to level things up before half time as first Mario Mandzukic drew a routine stop from Paulo Gazzaniga before Ronaldo uncharacteristically missed the ball entirely after stealing a yard from his marker.

Spurs went into the break ahead, though, and made five changes at the break including the introduction of Kane and Lucas.

Lucas came close with a powerful effort which zipped narrowly past the post within 10 minutes of the restart, moments after Filippo Bernardeschi had forced a save from Gazzaniga.

Juve were offering more of an attacking threat in the second half and duly levelled things up shortly before the hour mark when Higuain, whose future at the club remains uncertain following his return from Chelsea, played a one-two with Bernardeschi and slotted his finish into the bottom corner.

Spurs had the chance to regain their lead immediately when Kane planted a header wide of the target from close range, and it looked like being a costly miss when Juventus went up the other end and scored another goal just a minute later.

Mattia De Sciglio got down the left flank before pulling a low pass back into the box which Ronaldo did well to adjust his body for, steering his finish past Gazzaniga to get his 2019-20 tally up and running.

Juve then handed a debut to new arrival Matthijs de Ligt, but it was Tottenham's debutant Tanguy Ndombele who made the more immediate impact with an assist minutes after he was brought on.

The club-record signing's first touches in a Tottenham shirt proved to be good ones as he slid an incisive pass into the box for Lucas, who got in front of his marker to fire a finish past Szczesny.

Ndombele almost went one better two minutes later with a curling shot of his own which bounced narrowly past the far post, and at the other end Bernardeschi forced a save from Gazzaniga.

Both sides had chances to grab a winner in the closing stages, with Kane cutting inside De Ligt before sliding a finish just wide, before Higuain flashed an effort across goal and past the far post when he should have done better.

The winner did eventually arrive in spectacular fashion, though, as Lucas won possession on the halfway line and Kane immediately went for goal without looking up first, lobbing former Arsenal man Szczesny from 50 yards.

There was no way back for the Italian champions as Sarri's first match at the helm ended in defeat, leaving Spurs to go into Thursday's match against Manchester United on the back of a victory.
