Stoke City forward Peter Crouch will undergo dental surgery after losing two teeth during last night's 2-1 win over Newcastle United.
The 31-year-old was caught in the jaw by the arm of Fabricio Coloccini, although Potters boss Tony Pulis does not believe that there was any malice in the Toon defender's challenge.
"Peter wanted to carry on," said Pulis. "But then he saw his teeth in the doctor's hands and he almost fainted, I think.
"He has lost two and the third was stuck in his upper jaw. He's going to need some work on it. But I don't think there was any malice in it."
Crouch was replaced by Kenwyne Jones after 40 minutes of the match at the Britannia Stadium.
