Cameron Jerome scores a stoppage time equaliser to rescue 10-man Stoke a point against Southampton, who had twice led at the Britannia Stadium.

Cameron Jerome scored an injury-time screamer to rescue Stoke City a point against Southampton this afternoon.

Southampton surprisingly led 3-1 at the break, but second-half goals from Matthew Upson and Jerome ensured that the Potters remain unbeaten at the Britannia Stadium this season.

Ricky Lambert opened the scoring for the Saints with a smart finish following excellent work from Guly do Prado on the wing.

Stoke regained parity when Kenwyne Jones made amends for a glaring earlier miss by cleverly back-heeling Ryan Shotton's cross past Kelvin Davis.

Summer signing Jay Rodriguez netted just his second Saints goal to restore their advantage, converting a close-range rebound after Robert Huth's miscued clearance came back off the crossbar.

A promising position for the visitors turned into first-half dominance when Andy Wilkinson turned Lambert's cross into his own net on 36 minutes.

Things appeared to be going Southampton's way when they benefited from a couple of refereeing decisions midway through the second period.

Mark Clattenburg waved away Stoke appeals for a penalty, despite Jose Fonte, who was already on a yellow card, appearing to handle Shotton's cross.

Moments later though, the official did go to his pocket to dismiss Steven N'Zonzi for a rash tackle on Jack Cork, leaving Stoke with a mountain to climb.

However, it did not prove to be a task too big for the Potters as Upson reduced the deficit by scrambling home from close range, before Jerome completed the comeback.

In the first of seven added minutes, the substitute latched onto a Peter Crouch knockdown to fire a 25-yard half-volley in off the crossbar.
