Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has called on his players to get their winning spirit back on Tuesday when they face Chelsea in the League Cup quarter-finals.
The Black Cats are currently five points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Premier League table following just two victories in 16 games.
However, Poyet wants his team to give their league form a boost by defeating the Blues at the Stadium of Light tomorrow.
"If we want to get out of the relegation zone, we need to become winners, winning football games, and to become winners, we need to win the next one, so let's see if we can use it for that reason," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.
"It's just about playing and becoming winners. A winner is somebody who wins most of the time, and that's what we are trying to achieve here."
Sunderland were narrowly beaten 4-3 by Chelsea when the teams met in the league at the start of the month.
