Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has insisted that he and his side are confident that they can secure some positive results in their next few games and pull away from the relegation zone.
Defoe netted his second goal for the club in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Swansea City, and the former England striker has said that it is vital that they put in a similar performance against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.
He told reporters: "The games we've got coming up are massive and we have to be confident now. QPR are a team that are really fighting as well but we just have to play like we did here because I thought we played well.
"We created some chances but football's about results and you have to put on a performance."
Sunderland currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, four points clear of the drop zone.
