Sunderland keeper Simon Mignolet has insisted that Emile Hesky is not to blame for his current injuries.
Mignolet was left with a fractured eye socket and broken nose following a collision with the veteran striker last October.
"It's just one of the perils of the job," Mignolet said.
"I can't remember much about it because I blacked out and spent two nights in hospital.
"There was no blame on Emile's part. He was just looking for the ball when the cross came over."
The Belgian has worn a protective face mask since returning to action this month.
