Sunderland winger Connor Wickham has backed the team to avoid relegation from the Premier League following their 1-1 draw with Stoke City.
The Black Cats slipped into the drop zone on Saturday as they were forced to share the spoils at the Britannia Stadium.
However, Wickham is confident that he and his teammates can get themselves out of trouble during their remaining five games of the campaign.
"There are only five games left, but it is still a long way to go," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "And although it is going to be difficult, I think we have more than enough talent in the changing room to take on the teams we have got to play and get the points we need to stay safe."
Sunderland are back in action on May 2 when they welcome Southampton to the Stadium of Light.
