Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone has penned a new two-year contract with the club, the Sunderland Echo confirmed on Friday morning.
Mannone was named the Black Cats' player of the season and recently had to deny reports that he had handed in a transfer request at the club.
He has now committed his short-term future to the club after Sunderland activated a two-year option in his contract, which had initially tied him to Sunderland until 2015.
Sunderland signed Costel Pantilimon from Manchester City less than two weeks ago.
