Chances have been rare in a goalless first half between Swansea City and Southampton at the Liberty Stadium.
Swansea dominated the contest from the first whistle, with Southampton struggling to keep the ball for a sustained period of time early on.
However, it was Jay Rodriguez who had the first real chance as the Saints forward drilled an effort over the crossbar.
Rodriguez had a better chance in the 23rd minute but his low shot was easily saved by Michel Vorm.
Michael Laudrup's side continued to enjoy the majority of possession as half time approached but neither side was able to force an opening in the first 45 minutes.
