Andre Ayew has admitted that it was the influence of manager Garry Monk that convinced him to snub other clubs and sign for Swansea City.
The Ghana international has lit up the Premier League since joining the Swans on a free transfer in the summer, and was named Player of the Month for August.
"I think what was important was not the club you play for but where you are going to be able to prove yourself, and where you are going to be able to be able to settle in and have the confidence from your teammates and from your manager," the 25-year-old told Sky Sports News.
"I spoke to most of all the other managers that wanted me, but when I spoke to our manager and the chairman I felt that something different was here and I wanted to play in England."
Ayew joined Swansea from Marseille, where he scored 52 goals over a nine-year spell.
