Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has revealed that the club are seeking specialist advice over Michu's ongoing ankle problem.
Michu will undergo a scan on Monday after missing Swansea's 2-1 defeat to Everton on Sunday, and Laudrup has insisted that the club won't hesitate in attempting to rectify the issue if the Spanish attacker is advised to undergo an operation.
The 49-year-old told BBC Sport: "He may have a chance for Boxing Day, but we will see. We will have a final opinion from an expert and then decide.
"If the information suggests that he needs an operation, he will have surgery in the very near future."
Michu has featured just twice for the Swans since the start of November.
