The Turin outfit took the lead in the 19th minute when Danilo D'Ambrosio touched a long free kick into the path of Kamil Glik, who fired home from close range.
Alessio Cerci came close to extending their lead soon after, but Federico Marchetti saved his effort.
Lazio's best chance of the first half came when Lucas Biglia's strike from distance had to be turned around the post by Daniele Padelli.
Minutes after the break Hernanes came close for the visitors as his long-range attempt went narrowly over the bar.
They pushed for a late equaliser and Balde Keita had a chance in the final minutes when he fired over from close range, but Torino held on to the win that moved them up to seventh in the table.
